DIY 10 Knit Classic Sweaters from Diary of a Creative Fanatic. All these curated patterns are free. 6 easy to follow video tutorials are at the bottom of the post for beginners. I really like this site because the roundups of patterns are so carefully picked and the patterns are ones that I would actually want to spend time knitting.

HOLY WHAT

MY MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN

THAT NEVER HAPPENS WITH HARRY POTTER

ESPECIALLY NOT WITH MINERVA MCGONAGALL

OMFG MY WHOLE LIFE IS WHAT

WHAT WHAT WHAT

Oh my god, she was GORGEOUS.

WAIT WHAT WHAT’S GOING ON

If y’all ever thought Minerva was anything short of stunning when she was young, you have been fooled. This witch was a heart breaker, and could spell circles around anyone. Brains and beauty with that lovely lady.

But it isn’t a magic portrait because that would be a little bit weird to have her argue with her past self.

Clearly Professor McGonagall was the Hermionie Granger of her own generation…

Well the Hermionie Granger after that one tooth curse incident that she exploited to bypass braces

This honestly made me tear up. Imagining how great he must have felt that his planned worked and choosing that risk paid off.
I also feel like him and the model have such good chemistry, they’re always so kind and loving to one another.

Holy shit what did he do?? That’s rad as hell!

Since the runway was going to have simulated rain, he wanted to make the outfit become colorful because of it rather than deflect it. He sewed dye into the seams and once the rain hit it the dye ran! Very simple but super effective. He was one of the two winners of that challenge.

Absolutely brilliant. Holy shit.

Bee Hotels for Solitary Bees

You may be wondering what bees need a hotel for, when they make their own hives. The truth is that many species of bees are solitary – the do not live in hives but instead construct their own nest. The main reason for this is because in these species every female is fertile and this would not make for comfortable communal living in a hive.

Eeeeee! That is the cutest bee face I have ever seen poking out there like “you rang?”

More like, “You buzzed?”

;)

Can’t stop, won’t stop: Protesters in Ferguson rally again, seeking justice for Mike Brown. More than a month and a half after his death, his killer, Darren Wilson, is still a free man. (Pt 2)

Because it wouldn’t be a protest in Ferguson without fuckery from the police. A driver plowed his car through protesters, grazing several and running over a young boys foot. Beyond taking several hours to transport the boy to the hospital, they took even longer to arrest the motorist. Who did they not wait long to arrest? Two of the protesters who had been documenting the altercation for the world to see. If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention. #staywoke #farfromover #nojusticenopeace

Neuroscience could alter feeling disappointed
Finding an antidote for feeling let-down may now be possible. Researchers at UC San Diego have identified a control mechanism for an area of the brain that processes sensory and emotive information that humans experience as feeling depressed.
“The idea that some people see the world as a glass half empty has a chemical basis in the brain,” said senior author Roberto Malinow. “What we have found is a process that may dampen the brain’s sensitivity to negative life events.”
Because people struggling with depression are believed to register negative experiences more strongly than others, the study’s findings have implications for understanding not just why some people have a brain chemistry that predisposes them to depression but also how to treat it.

For Banned Books Week, here are some covers National Book Award Winners that are among the most commonly challenged books in the US.

That Catch 22 cover as a print please.

Thanks.

Huh, only read one of them. The Invisible Man is actually a superbly well written book.

Ever have trouble finding boots in the right color? Tried spray-painting them and ended up with a dry, cracked mess?A fantastic friend recently advised me to paint leather boots (and any other leather goods) with floral paint. This is a spray paint that is light and flexible enough to use on live flowers. Above are the Poison Ivy boots I painted for a friend, which turned out fantastic.
One thing though: Wear them while you paint them, and maybe stretch your foot around in between coats. I didn’t think of this, and while the paint did not crack at all, it started to split where the boots were stretched from walking. Next time I paint some boots, I’ll let you know if I was able to fix this problem.
The paint I used is called Design Master, and you can find it at Michael’s or Joann Fabrics. In the stores near me, Michael’s had a better selection of colors and a slightly better price, but that may not be true everywhere. This color is “Holiday Green.”

Great alternative to spray rubber and plasti-dip or bootcovers, and cheaper than leather paint! Reminder that Michaels and JoAnns both frequently offer 50% off coupons and will match competitor coupons and offers!!

If you have a light colored base and don’t have the ability to color the boot with a spray (like if you need to draw details) use fabric paint. It takes more coats but it’s made for things you move in like t-shirts and other knit material. I used it for a boot before and have worn them. No flakes. Also this expands your color library as well as types of finishes they provide.I’ve also used Rustoleum spray paint on pleather for the silver portion of my snk belt system. Wore it twice and no peeling or running. I did seal my spray with Mod Podge as well.Never use acrylic paint. While it’s fine on canvas I’ve seen it come back chipped from other cosplayers. Do not waste money on Liquitex Acrylic paint, it’s really not made for clothes and at $8 a bottle you might want to reconsider.

"It’s just a prank, calm down!"

When did harassing women become a prank? You can clearly see that this girl is trying to laugh it off even though she’s uncomfortable with it, and that is not okay. If I’m a feminazi for pointing this out, then so be it, I’m not going to tolerate this shit.

I would have grabbed that ponytail and ripped his hair right off his ugly head

Me too, OMG I would have punched his fucking nasal bone up into his brain.

Is it wrong that I would get personal satisfaction from seeing this dude get judo-flipped into a dumpster while trying this?

I support the above notion
