what the fuck

this is the scariest shit i’ve ever seen in my life

This is so cool. Eat Otomo Yoshihide’s heart out.

I’m used to associating this sort of heavy creepy distortion type audio as being achieved by internal studio mixing. Picking sections, warping them, reversing, repeating, all that sort of thing done with the board tools and programming suites. I didn’t stop to think that the same sort of effects could be achieved PHYSICALLY by fucking with the playback tools and the storage mediums themelves. It’s incredibly clever, especially when they introduce the cut-apart and reconstructed vinyl platters, it becomes the audio equivalent of cut-paste collaging or magnetic poetry. It takes something as ethereal and insubstantial as music, and makes it as tangible as sculpture.

Whoa.

Beautiful

I would be too terrified to play a horror game with this as the sound effects/ambient music!

A doodle turned serious and now I can’t figure out what color pattern I want to go with or if I should change the hair. My brother refuses to offer me an opinion.

The pros of having my older brother as my primary critic..

Pro: He’s brutally honest

Con: “Show me it when you’re more finished with it” I”m asking you to look at it now so I don’t have to redo the entire thing later!!!!!!! “Show me when you’re more finished”

The latest release of Gauntlet has made the Valkyrie character a badass beyond compare, but this was not always the case.

Now this a franchise that started in 1985, and it went through a very dark period where the character above was still supposed to be the one with the most armor.  They’ve gone from that (Seven Sorrows, 2005), to:

There is seriously no excuse for any franchise to keep perpetuating these terrible armor tropes.

If you wanna go even farther back…

This is the Valkyrie in Gauntlet Dark Legacy (2001) (Blue version was the one featured in the loading intro)

That game featured four classes focusing around a single stat (speed, magic, strength, armor/health) with a male and female version of each class under a different name, except for the strength stat. Strength got a guy and a shorter guy.

My brother and I played the PS 2 game to completion multiple times, and found something peculiar about the Valkyrie character. The male and female versions of the same class had slightly different starting stats, but they were balanced. The Valkyrie, however, had lower starting stats than the Knight and no higher stats to balance. So she starts off weaker than her male counterpart. Take that for what you will.

colours-theory:

Since the colors are never what they look like, It’s useful to understand the color in two ways : the RELATIVE color and the ABSOLUTE color.

The Relative color is the color as it is seen, according to the perception of the eye and the translation from the brain to the…

re-drawing that glamorous dwarf lady from last year.
i’ve decided that she’s a fashion designer and owns a business called Chain-mail Bikinis. they offer a wide and fashionable array of armor and casual clothing for creatures with ‘unconventional’ body types.
you 4 feet tall with line-backer shoulders looking for an evening gown? she’s got you.
need material that won’t rip when you turn into a ferocious were-beast? you’re good.
a literal terrifying giant dragon? you wouldn’t believe how easy it is to make a suit coat that accommodates wings.
fashion dwarf can do it all. to bad i can’t think of a name yet.

Allow me to introduce you to the Red-eyed Crocodile Skink.
Since these guys were recently discovered (mid to late nineties), there isn’t a whole lot that is known about them, but I’ll share a few facts with you here.

  • These guys can grow up to ten inches in length, though the average is more like seven.
  • They’re pretty shy and choose to play dead as their defense mechanism.
  • Other than geckos, these guys are one of the only lizards that vocalize. Their sound is described as a barking noise when they’re in distress
  • Average lifespan is listed at around 6 years

Since it was Munday, I decided to do a small art reference project for myself. And then I decided to make it public with the following notes.

From Left to Right, Top to Bottom:

What NOT to do (front):

  • Don’t chicken wing your arms! Although it might be easier to hold the rifle, you will make yourself a bigger target.
  • Don’t close your one eye! You will lose your depth perception, which is crucial when you are on the move, or are trying to determine how far away your target is
  • Don’t keep your legs haphazardly strewn about. You need to make sure you’re balanced!

What to do (front)

  • Keep both eyes open
  • Bend your elbows downwards and towards the ground to make yourself a smaller target
  • Bend your knees to control the gun’s recoil + be ready to move.

What NOT to do (side)

  • Don’t put the stock above your shoulder
  • Don’t lean back.
  • Both of the above reduce your control over the weapon and may result in a black eye, and the rifle flying backwards and out of your hands.

What to do (side)

  • Bury the stock of the rifle into the meaty part of your shoulder
  • Lean into the gun to keep the gun under control when the recoil of the gun kicks the gun upwards or to the side
  • Bend your knees slightly to lean forward, as well as make yourself a smaller target

Patrol/Relaxed Stance

  • The soldier is relaxed and is most likely moving around.
  • His eyes are searching for possible threats
  • His hands are still on the rifle, even if he has a sling on

Low Ready Stance

  • Possible threat has been detected
  • Entire body shifts towards threat direction
  • Stock is shouldered
  • Eyes are focused on the possible target
  • Gun barrel is pointed in the target’s general direction, but not directly at the target.

Firing Stance

  • Immediate response
  • Soldier fires off shots while screaming to the other people in his team
  • "CONTACT!" or "THREAT!"

YOU ARE A SAINT

Brilliant little reference here *reblogs for his art friends*
